Former New England Patriots linebacker and current ESPN analyst Tedi Bruschi speculated Tuesday that RB Laurence Maroney will not re-emerge as the lead back in the playoffs. "I think the Patriots are going to go with Sammy Morris and Fred Taylor," Bruschi said. Maroney was believed to be in the doghouse after losing his third goal-line fumble of the season in Week 16. He was deactivated in Week 17, though Bill Belichick has been tight-lipped about the situation.
Fantasy Take:
Expect Morris and Taylor to carry the load on early-downs with Kevin Faulk handling passing situations. As for '10, expect the Pats to draft a RB in the early rounds to get some youth on the roster, and don't be surprised if Maroney ends up released.
