New Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger has been working extensively with QB Vince Young's on footwork. Young is embracing the necessary adjustments, most dealing with keeping a balanced approach in order to improve accuracy. "I feel like 'Dinger is getting me...
Fantasy Take:
If Young can improve on his pocket passing ability, he could surprise people again with a top 5 fantasy QB performance like he did in '07 as a rookie.

All of the Houston Texans running backs, including Ahman Green, are fully healthy for mini-camp.
Barring the unexpected, Green will enter the season as the starter, new FA signee, Chris Brown, will be the primary backup (he is familiar with the zone blocking scheme from college) while Chris...
Fantasy Take:
Ahman Green enters '08 as a #3 fantasy back with some upside if he can stay healthy. Chris Brown warrants consideration, particularly in deep leagues as he'll have some good weeks. The dynasty pick here is Steve Slaton who has the skill set to be a very good zone blocking runner and...

The Oakland Raiders 2nd year RB Michael Bush reportedly "ran with smooth athleticism that belied his size" during the Raiders' rookie minicamp Friday. Bush is 6'2/247 and reportedly also looked good catching the ball, which was one of Bush's strengths at Louisville.
Fantasy Take:
He'll be Oakland's No. 3 back to open the season, but remains intriguing because Justin Fargas is injury prone. That said rookie Darren McFadden is likely to be the featured guy with Fargas or Bush only getting carries at the goal-line & between the 20's - or then again, maybe Bush &...

ESPN's John Clayton writes that "it is now clear" that Chicago RB Cedric Benson will go to training camp with the Bears. Because of the cap hit (reportedly $6M+), it would hurt the Bears more to cut him than simply keep him on the roster.
Fantasy Take:
They may secretly hope Benson's recovery from a broken ankle goes slowly so they can stash him on injured reserve. As for his pending court case, the Bears will let the legal system play itself out. Benson will be paid his $820,000 this season.
What's clear is that rookie Matt...

ESPN's John Clayton suggests that recently released, turned free agent WR Koren Robinson could land with the Oakland Raiders. Clayton says Robinson, who was released Friday, hasn't heard much yet. But Oakland could use him on returns after losing Chris Carr.
Fantasy Take:
Robinson is reportedly also "monitoring what's going on in Kansas City," where he'd be a good fit and have some possible fantasy value, particularly given that the KC's possible starting WR's are Devard Darling & Jeff Webb.

According to SI's Bucky Brooks, some Seattle Seahawks officials believe Bobby Engram's production has been inflated due to QB Matt Hasselbeck's belief in the veteran. There's also speculation that the shift to a more balanced offense will diminish Engram's role. The Seahawks...
Fantasy Take:
This looks like spin coming from Seattle, but it does point out that Engram's role is likely to decrease this year, especially considering he's going to be 35 and the Seahawks want to diversify their attack.

The Tennessee Titans WR Mike Williams has lost 30 pounds and has struck up a good relationship with new offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger. Williams arrived early for OTAs and has been diligent in a "structured" football environment for the first time in his pro career.
Fantasy Take:
Heimerdinger is likely dubious of Williams getting into top shape and staying there consistently, but he has been impressed with Williams' talent.
File this away in the 'deep sleeper' category but if Williams could ever get down into that 220 range, he would be a good red...

Don't forget RB's as potential dominant fantasy studs
Posted: 54 days 12 hours 48 minutes ago | This is: Offensive
Comment: This is good analysis Lee, I think you're on to something here but one factor you didn't include was the changing dynamics of the NFL. Offenses shift from year to year, in '05 & '06, the top fantasy producer (particularly in leagues that reward rushing/receiving TD's more than passing ones) were Shaun Alexander & LT respectively. Last year there was an explosion in passing scores but we could just as easily see a return to a RB (or backs) dominating the fantasy ranks in '08. Names I would put forth are Stephen Jackson (particularly if the Rams select LT Ryan Long in the draft), Adrian Peterson (if he can stay healthy and the Vikings can get defenses to respect the pass), Marion Barber and maybe Maurice Jones-Drew (if Fred Taylor gets hurt, which is inevitable at 32 years old, MJD would be a 20+ TD scorer).
